Ombudsman not to proceed with formal investigation

CCKT received a letter July 15, 2011 confirming, with stated reasons, why the Ombudsman's Office came to this decision. This decision is a result of CCKT's request for a review of the procurement processes that arrived at the present site of the generator, now under construction in Holland Marsh.

Public Information Centres (PICs):

York Region Transit (YRT/Viva) 2012 Service Plan

Click here for the list all the PICS across YR.  King Township's is August 16 at 5-7pm at King City library.

Many King commuters are well aware of the increasing stress on parking at the King City GO station, particularly with the addition of a 5th train in the coming weeks.
For this reason and others, it's important you consider attending one of these events to learn York Region Transit's current regional plans and strategies, and to provide input on transit matter that affect YOU.  Members of Council are being encouraged to attend and participate; but this can't replace our valued public input.

Further background:

York Region Transit was formed in 2001 with the amalgamation of four local
municipal transit systems. Since then, it has grown from 57 routes and 7.68
million revenue riders to 121 routes including five Viva Bus Rapid Transit
(BRT) routes, throughout the nine municipalities of York Region. In 2011,
the system carries approximately 73,000 passengers daily, and is projected
to carry over 21 million revenue riders by the end of 2011.

YRT/Viva staff have engaged 18 Municipal planning staff and solicited
feedback on the proposed changes to routes within your municipality. Their
comments and feedback have been incorporated into the route revisions, where
possible. YRT/Viva has also invited Municipal staff to attend the Public
Information Centres
